When your lawn is too far gone for overseeding — bare, patchy, weed-choked, or torn up by construction — sod is the fastest path to a lawn you're proud of. Instead of babysitting seed for months, you get instant, full coverage that's ready to establish immediately. Gibbs Lawn & Landscape installs sod for homes and businesses throughout Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.
Sod success is 90% preparation. We strip out old turf and weeds, grade and loosen the soil, and correct problem spots before a single roll goes down. Then we lay quality sod suited to Middle Tennessee tight-seamed and rolled, and walk you through the watering schedule that gets roots established fast.

Sod Installation FAQs
Sod can be installed most of the year here, but spring and early fall give the easiest establishment — warm soil and moderate temperatures. Summer installs work fine too with disciplined watering. We'll advise on timing for your specific project.
Keep traffic off it for about two weeks while the roots knit into the soil, and hold off on the first mow until it's rooted (usually 2–3 weeks). We'll leave you with simple care instructions.
